Hope’s Landing is a social enterprise that gives survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence a job in a safe, trauma-informed environment. They make beautiful candles and bath and body products, and sell their products in over 100 stores across 25 states and 4 countries.
Founder and Owner, Leah Cordy, reached out as they were in need of a new promotional video for their business, to reflect their new offerings, and showcase their mission. We met and discussed what she wanted to accomplish with the video, and the style and flow that she would want. After developing a plan to interview herself as well as her Director of Operations and Executive Director, we set a shoot date where we could accomplish both the interviews, as well as B-Roll within their shop and stores in which their products are displayed.
It was a very smooth shoot as all of the ladies were naturals in front of the camera, and we were simply able to have a conversation between themselves and me as the interviewer. I had just upgraded gear to include a slider, which I used on my B Cam for the interviews. I felt this this was perfect for this shoot as it gave more movement and emotion to the interview shots than a typical static shot.
I love working with business owners that are passionate about what they do, because making a final video that reflects the brands vision and mission is that much easier.
