Kelsey and Ryan’s wedding at the Maumee Bay North Lawn was one I patiently awaited for for months! These two lived in Lexington, Virginia while planning their entire wedding! I was amazed at the beauty in all the details and how thoughtful everything was having been so far away for most planning! (Shout out to K&K Events for all their hard work as well)!
Being that they were so far away, we had to time their engagement session almost perfectly. They were home for Thanksgiving but unfortunately I was out of town! So then we planned for a session on the 23rd of December when they would be in Ohio again. Weather put a halt to that! The night before, Mother Nature dumped loads of snow and made it impossible for them to even make it home! Unfortunately we had to cancel and meet for the first time at their wedding. None of that mattered when we showed up because all of their friends and family were so kind and welcoming! In every interaction, you could feel the love and emotion.
This day was full of tear filled first looks and vows by the lake. (An extremely windy day at that! So windy that we had to delay the first look about 20 minutes to fix and tie down the ceremony arch)! Thank goodness for all the handy people that saved the day and helped make it work. Even with all that, Kelsey was as calm and happy as can be! We made it work and photographed the girls while it was all going on! Kelsey was so chill and just so glad to be marrying her “skinny guy with glasses.”
Hosting a ceremony on the Maumee Bay North Lawn is truly breathtaking! These two had beautiful vows that were also so humorous. An amazing surprise for most guests was that the father of the Groom officiated the ceremony! All attendees of the Eddy wedding enjoyed hearing their stories and how important they are to each other. Baseball, sports in general, and travel are all so important to these two. Their goofy bunch that rounded out their wedding party truly love Ryan and Kelsey and it’s a beautiful thing to witness.
The Reunion Cabin on the property of Maumee Bay is outstanding! So much light coming in and beautiful for any pre-ceremony photos and Bridal party getting ready festivities. This was the perfect place for mom to help Kelsey with the necklace she also wore on her own wedding day! Even her veil had pieces of mom’s incorporated into it, so extremely special. A favorite moment was Kelsey’s first look with her dad. Anyone nearby had some tears in their eyes because of how lovely it was and Dad’s emotions coming out for his lovely girl.
Kelsey wore a lovely sleek dress from Amanda’s Touch Bridal in Waynesboro, VA while her bridesmaids were all in a lovely shade of blush. The Groom and his men all looked quite dashing in their blue suits from Jim’s Formal Wear. The detail colors of navy and blush were a perfect pairing and added to the elegance of the entire wedding.
The amazing party was held in the Maumee Bay Reception Tent. The space was decorated with large white bubbles, lovely florals and string lights! Man was this a party!! It started out with heartfelt speeches from the Maid of Honor and Best Man and great food. We loved the unique dessert assortment too! Light up party toys and bubble machines were brought out and truly added to the fun. Include a guest appearance from an inflated chicken and you really have an exciting reception!
